A private sitting asks for something a room full of people doesn't: building trust with one stranger quickly, then staying fully present with them for a sustained, often deeply personal stretch of time — sometimes thirty minutes, sometimes closer to an hour. WHAT THIS INTENSIVE IS This Intensive is built around the private one-to-one sitting structure — a more intimate, personal setting than a public demonstration. You'll practice opening a sitting to set expectations and establish that you're in charge of the session, then staying present as one or more people in the spirit world come through wanting to communicate — because a sitting is never really about delivering one fixed message, but about a real, ongoing conversation. You'll work the full arc of a sitting repeatedly, in guided pairs, with feedback on pacing, tone, and evidence quality after each round. This Intensive assumes you already have foundational sitting skills from earlier coursework. The focus here is refinement: finding your own personal reading style within the Whole Medium Approach, tightening your structure, and building the stamina and consistency a full sitting practice requires. WHAT YOU'LL PRACTICE • Opening a sitting, setting expectations, and establishing that you're in charge of the session • Building rapport with a stranger quickly • Staying present as one or more people in the spirit world come through, rather than focusing on a single fixed message • Reading the sitter's responses and adjusting pace in real time • Staying evidential while remaining warm and present • Developing a personal reading style within the Whole Medium Approach • Closing a sitting with care, especially after emotionally heavy content WHO THIS IS FOR Students who've already put in the study and practice to hold a steady connection with the spirit world and communicate with them confidently — this Intensive isn't a first exposure to the work — and want to move from occasional practice sittings to a confident, repeatable one-to-one reading style, whether building toward a private sitting practice or simply deepening core skills. WHY THIS TRAINING IS DIFFERENT This is the Whole Medium Approach — taught only by Mavis Pittilla's Authorized Teachers, so this exact methodology isn't available outside that lineage of certified teachers. Capped at 14 students working in guided pairs with direct teacher feedback, it's real mentored learning, not a lecture you sit through.
